What is included in these 5th Grade Language Arts Sub Plans?

Each lesson in the 5th grade language arts sub plans is simple enough for the sub to follow, but will engage your students in authentic learning …and not just busy work. Each lesson plan has a section for teacher notes at the bottom for any notes you’d like to leave for the sub (or for the sub to leave you notes!) All the graphic organizers, activities, or worksheets needed to complete every lesson are included.

  • Language Arts topics include: similes and metaphors, idioms, fixing sentences, verb tense, and personification
  • Silent Reading Comprehension Strategy Lesson topics include: text questioning, making connections, visualizing, summarizing, and the main idea
  • Reading Passages Lesson: Three differentiated reading passages are included. Choose the best one or use all three and differentiate. The topic of the reading passages include a sick teacher, soccer, movie popcorn, reading, and the middle ages
  • Writing topics include: opinion writing, narrative writing, informative writing, acrostic poetry, and friendly letter writing
 

In addition to the 5th grade ELA lessons, the following student activities are also included:

  • Educational Games covering one or more of the lesson topics
  • Just Add a Task Board Game: These board games are nearly ready to go! All that’s left to do is add a task- such as a spelling or a vocabulary list or math flash cards. It can also be played just for fun without a task. Color and B&W versions included.

Sub plans

Excellent plans! No prep, no sweat- everything is right there. This eases my mind if suddenly I need to take some days off- the plans are so comprehensive, I don’t need to worry about creating lesson plans- THEY ARE DONE!
