Mitten Thank You Notes to your Substitute(s)
These print-and-go thank-you notes are mitten themed and perfect to leave for your substitute if you choose to use these as winter sub plans! They are a half page so you can save on paper and ink.
Snowflake Themed “How Did Your Day Go?” Substitute Notes Form
This substitute notes form gives your sub a space to write students who did well, those who struggled, what they didn’t get to, and any additional notes. Perfect to be sure you know just how the day went. It also boasts a fun snowflake theme!

Math Winter Lesson Plans Checklist
This is where you let the sub know which lessons to use for the day. You can check a box to let them know to use ALL the lessons for a full day of plans, OR you can check individual lessons you would like used during your math block.
Math Lesson #1: Numbers 11-12
Students will focus on writing and counting the numbers 11-12 and review the numbers 6-10 as well.
A lesson plan & 4 worksheets are included.

Math Lesson #2: Place Value 0-20
Place value activities focused on the numbers 0-20

A set of cards with ten frames are included, as well as instructions to play the memory game and war with the same set of cards. Cards are included in color and black and white!
Students will beg to play this game over and over, all month long!
Party Hat Hop Math Board Game
Students will practice their basic addition facts with a FUN and engaging math game! A game board, dice (to fold and glue), game pieces, and game cards are all included. Your kids will want to play it over and over! A colored version of the game has also been added in case you want to use it for more than just sub days, but black and white is also included.
Use the game all month long to continue to practice skills.

ELA Winter Lesson Plans Checklist

ELA Lesson #1: Letter Writing Practice with M, N, and O
Students will practice writing the letters M, N, and O and identify objects that use their sounds. Winter themed!

ELA Lessons #2: Rhyming: Sounds -AY and -UG
Students will do a cut-and-paste activity to practice rhyming! They will find words to match “LAY” and “MUG” to keep up the winter theme.

Writing Lesson: Winter Acrostic Poem
Students will write an acrostic poem- using one word for each of the letters in the word “WINTER”!

Students will write a simple goal for the new year and draw a picture of themselves working on it.

Students will write about why Martin Luther King, Jr. was important after a brief mini-lesson about him.

Reading Passages & Lessons
2 reading passages are included at 2 different levels. Choose one to use or use both and differentiate! One of the passages is about a snowball fight and the other is about a red snow hat.
A lesson plan is included to introduce the topics for each reading passage as well!
Reading Lesson to use with ANY Book!
This reading lesson can be used for a class read-aloud for any narrative story. It is focused on making connections during reading.
Students can choose their FAVORITE books to use with this, making it extra fun and engaging.
This lesson can be used over and over with new stories to increase reading comprehension skills.
